CHAPTER 4

(760 B.C.)

JERUSALEMS GLORIOUS FUTURE: THE MILLENNIUM

1And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by your name, to take away our reproach. (Verses 1 and 2 refer to the Great Tribulation that is soon to come upon this Earth [Mat. 24:21], as well as the coming glorious Millennium.

As Isaiahs Prophecy continues, the Holy Spirit, after giving the horrors of the yet to come Great Tribulation, now continues with a glorious Word of Mercy.)

MESSIAH REIGNING

2In that day shall the Branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the Earth shall be excellent and comely for them who are escaped of Israel. (This is the coming Millennial Reign. The phrase, are escaped of Israel, refers to the remnant which shall escape the future Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon. The Branch of the LORD is Christ.)

A HOLY PEOPLE

3And it shall come to pass, that he who is left in Zion, and he who remains in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem (Israel, after a long night of thousands of years, will finally come home, but at great price [Zech. 14:16-21]):

4When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the Spirit of Judgment, and by the Spirit of Burning. (This speaks of the conversion of the Remnant, immediately after the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming. Israel, at that time, will be saved by accepting Jesus as Saviour.

The Spirit of Judgment and the Spirit of Burning have to do with the Office Work of the Holy Spirit. He will deal with Israel in Him bringing them to Christ in exactly the same manner that He has dealt with all men.)

GODS GLORY RESTORED

5And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. (In that coming Glad Day, Jerusalem, and especially the Temple area, will be totally different from anything the world has ever known.

Hovering over Mount Zion will be a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night, which will be eternal symbols and manifestations of His Presence. As Ezekiel said, The LORD is there [Ezek. 48:35].)

6And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. (All of this is Christ: the Tabernacle, the Shadow, the Place of Refuge, and the Covert.

All of this proves that Israel is going to be restored. In fact, the Church Age has almost come to its conclusion. It is being phased out, which will conclude with the Rapture, and Israel will be restored [Rom., Chpt. 11].)
