CHAPTER 94

AUTHOR UNKNOWN: A PRAYER FOR VENGEANCE ON THE OPPRESSORS

O LORD God, to Whom vengeance belongs; O God, to Whom vengeance belongs, show Yourself. (This Psalm corresponds with the time of Jacobs Trouble [Jer. 30:7], and will introduce the Antichrist, who will be the greatest work of the flesh ever devised by Satan.

In the latter half of the Great Tribulation, Israel will cry to God as never before. When it seems that she faces annihilation, she will plead with the Lord, show Yourself.)

Lift up Yourself, You Judge of the Earth: render a reward to the proud. (Israel, upon realizing that no nation in the world will lift a hand to save her, and we speak of the coming Great Tribulation, will cry for the Messiah to come. He is her only hope. The proud spoken of here pertains to the man of sin, the Antichrist.)

LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? (How long before the Lord works vengeance on the Antichrist?)

How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? (The followers of the Antichrist will boast of what looks like the annihilation of Israel.)

They break in pieces Your People, O LORD, and afflict Your heritage. (This concerns the Antichrist breaking his seven-year covenant with Israel at the midpoint. He will then set out to systematically destroy Your heritage.)

They kill the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. (The Antichrist will attempt to do what Hitler failed to do. He will have no mercy on any. He will hate Israel with a passion, thinking that if he can destroy them, the entirety of the Word of God will fall to the ground.)

Yet they say, the LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. (In effect, the Antichrist will blaspheme the Lord of Glory, proclaiming that God can do nothing to stop him. As well, he will blaspheme the Old Testament, claiming that the God of Jacob does not regard it.

What he does not know is that the very words he is using, the God of Jacob, specifically refer to the God Who met Jacob when he had nothing and deserved nothing, and gave him Grace and the Promise of every known blessing of life [Gen., Chpt. 28]. Likewise, this same God will once again come to the rescue of Jacob [Israel] when she has nothing and deserves nothing good and, in effect, will give Israel Grace and certain victory over the man of sin.)

Understand, you brutish among the people: and you fools, when will you be wise? (In this Passage, the Holy Spirit calls the Antichrist and those who follow him fools!)

He who plants the ear, shall He not hear? He Who forms the eye, shall He not see? (The Holy Spirit is informing the Antichrist that God sees all and hears all.)

He Who chastises the heathen, shall not He correct? He Who teaches man knowledge, shall not He know? (The Holy Spirit is saying that, as the Lord chastised the heathen of the past, He will likewise chastise the heathen of the present, meaning the Antichrist.)

The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. (The Lord will conclude all the great thoughts and claims of the Antichrist as being vanity, which means empty nothings.)

Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O LORD, and teach him out of Your Law (the sense of this Verse is that the Great Tribulation is Israels chastening, and that, through this chastening, she will be brought back to Your Law [Jer. 30:7]);

That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. (Israel will ultimately be given rest; the Antichrist ultimately will fall into the pit [II Thess. 2:8].)

For the LORD will not cast off His People, neither will He forsake His inheritance. (The Lord has made many Promises that Israel will be brought to restoration. This Passage is but one of those many.)

But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. (Judgment divorced from righteousness entails oppression. When the Son of Man returns to judge the Earth, the judgment will return to Righteousness and all the upright in heart will gladly follow in its train.)

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? (The confession of Verses 16 through 19 is that the Messiah Alone could protect defenseless Israel.)

Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. (At that time [the Battle of Armageddon], it will seem that no nation on Earth will come to Israels rescue. But the Lord will come to her aid!)

When I said, my foot slips; Your Mercy, O LORD, held me up. (When it looks like Israel has surely lost, and that the Antichrist will gain the victory, she will cry, Have mercy, O LORD, hold me up! And that He shall do [Zech. 14:34].)

In the multitude of my thoughts within me Your comforts delight my soul. (This means that at this critical juncture in Israels long history, the only comforts she will have are the Promises of God, which will delight my soul.)

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with You, which frames mischief by a law? (In this Passage, Israel contrasts the Earth under the Antichrist versus the Earth under Christ. Daniel said that the Antichrist would think to change times and laws [Dan. 7:25]. Actually, this has ever been mans problem. He continues to try to change Gods Laws into his own man-made laws; this always brings mischief.)

They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. (Here Israel is called the righteous, because they are the ancient people of the Book. The Antichrist will condemn them to death. Instead, he will die.)

But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the Rock of my refuge. (After so many years in the wilderness, Israel is finally coming home. She now realizes that her own strength cannot save her, nor the strength of any other nation, since none will come to her aid. She now knows that God Alone is her Rock.)

And He shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yes, the LORD our God shall cut them off. (Ezek., Chpts. 38 and 39, proclaim exactly how the Lord will do this.)
