CHAPTER 130

AUTHOR UNKNOWN: MY SOUL WAITS FOR THE LORD

Out of the depths have I cried unto You, O LORD. (The depths relate to the depth of affliction which Israel will suffer under the false messiah, which will be the just punishment of her rejection of the True Messiah.)

Lord, hear my voice: let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. (The Messiah requests that Jehovah hear His voice on behalf of His People.)

If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? (The depravity of all men is declared in this Verse.)

But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. (The cry for forgiveness of sins must be addressed to God, for He Alone can forgive. As well, a cry for deliverance from oppression is to be made to Him, for He is mighty to save.)

I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His Word do I hope.

My soul waits for the Lord more than they who watch for the morning: I say, more than they who watch for the morning. (This is a faith that waits on God and that waits for God. Saul was willing to wait on God, but not to wait for God, and so he lost the Kingdom [I Sam. 10:8; 13:814].)

Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption.

And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. (This Song of Trust gives abundant hope, not only for Israel, but for all who would take advantage of Gods great Salvation Plan.)
