CHAPTER 134

DAVID IS PROBABLY THE AUTHOR: AN EXHORTATION TO PRAISE

1Behold, bless you the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the House of the LORD. (This is the last of the Songs of Degrees or Ascents and is, therefore, a Song of Triumph. It is a scene of Millennial peace and glory, for Christ now reigns in Jerusalem. The Holy Spirit now invites the servants of Jehovah to praise Jehovah in the House of Jehovah.)

2Lift up your hands in the Sanctuary, and bless the LORD. (It is difficult for us to imagine at the present time the praise and worship that will characterize Jerusalem in that day, especially at the Temple site [Ezek., Chpts. 4048].)

3The LORD Who made Heaven and Earth bless you out of Zion. (As the first two Verses invited the servants of Jehovah to praise Him, Verse 3 is the response to the invitation. In the Millennial Day, men will bless Him, and He will bless men.)
