CHAPTER 138
THE AUTHOR IS DAVID: I WILL PRAISE YOU WITH MY WHOLE HEART
I will praise You with my whole heart: be fore the gods will I sing praise unto You. (The predictions in Verses 4 through 6 relate to the time when all the kings of the Earth the gods of this Verse will become subject to the Words of the Messiahs mouth.)
I will worship toward Your Holy Temple, and praise Your Name for Your lovingkindness and for Your Truth: for You have magnified Your Word above all Your Name. (His Name means His Reputation and Character for faithfulness and goodness. His Word is His Promise. In that future day, His Performance will exceed His Promise, thereby magnifying His Word above all His Name.)
In the day when I cried You answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul. (On the Millennial Morn, Israel will proclaim in song that all her expectations founded upon the Promises of God will be surpassed by their performance.)
All the kings of the Earth shall praise You, O LORD, when they hear the Words of Your Mouth.
Yes, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD. (Such praise, which is presently foreign, will, at that time, the Kingdom Age, be common.)
Though the LORD be high, yet has He respect unto the lowly: but the proud He knows afar off. (He, as the Self-humbled One [Phil. 2:8], will be enthroned; the proud one [the Antichrist Isa. 10:13; Dan. 11:36] will be afar off in the Lake of Fire [Rev. 19:20].)
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me: You shall stretch forth Your Hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your Right Hand shall save me.
The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: your Mercy, O LORD, endures forever: forsake not the works of Your own Hands. (The confidence of the Messiah and His People in the trustworthiness of the Promises of God is expressed in these last two Verses. He and His People are one; hence, He walks with them in the midst of trouble.)
